As part of the Carbon Charter’s Suffolk Sustainable Tourism support we are inviting businesses from the hospitality, entertainment, heritage, visitor attractions, food and drink – and any other business working within the visitor economy – to receive FREE training through a series of workshops.

The workshops are designed to link together as a series, however, if learners are unable to attend all 3 sessions it is also possible to sign up for the individual sessions. Attendees must be working for businesses or organisations from the tourism sector and based in Suffolk.

Workshop One – An Introduction to Net Zero and Sustainable Business

Thursday 2nd October 2025, at Endeavour House, Ipswich

10am to 12.30pm

An interactive and informative workshop helping tourism businesses to understand and manage emissions and wider environmental impacts and to put in place strategies to reduce these.

  • Jargon Busting
  • Climate Science
  • Carbon Footprints
  • Net Zero & Wider Impacts

Workshop Two – Cutting Costs and Cutting Carbon

Tuesday 21st October 2025, at Endeavour House, Ipswich

2pm to 4.30pm

This workshop has a focus on practical action and examples of how businesses can save money at the same time as reducing their environmental impacts.

  • Understanding Emissions
  • Exploring energy efficiency actions and renewable energy technologies
  • Premises, transport and supply chain carbon reductions
  • Sector specific tips

Workshop Three – How to Communicate Effectively about Sustainability

Thursday 30th October 2025 at Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, Wherstead, Ipswich

10am to 12.30pm

Attendees will have support to create their own sustainability policy, feel more confident about communicating about their sustainability plans and actions.

  • Writing an environmental/sustainability policy
  • Writing a carbon reduction plan
  • Responding to customers, supplier questionnaires & tenders
  • Avoiding greenwash

All three sessions will also include an opportunity to network and share ideas with other like-minded local tourism businesses.
